Hello, and here we go!

Welcome to the very first blog post on ashleykozel.com! I’m Ashley — artist, illustrator, and big fan of bold color, playful ideas, and characters with a little bit of mischief in their eyes.

This blog will be a space to share what I’m working on as I build my portfolio and explore new creative directions. Lately, I’ve been sketching a lot of quirky characters — some might end up in future prints, but most are just a personal exercise in capturing different facial expressions. I’m also starting to think through an idea for a children’s book (more on that soon… it’s still very much in the “scribbles and iPhone notes” phase).

My goal with this space is simple: to document the process, share the behind-the-scenes of new projects, and hopefully connect with others who love art, storytelling, or just a good dose of color.
